Affect wanted to grow brand awareness while also recruiting quality talent. To do this, the agency launched an annual multi-platform campaign to raise Affect’s profile among college students looking for a career in public relations.

Sophos

Sophos’ Naked Security blog provides breaking news, commentary and advice on IT security issues. Sophos was seeking to enhance Naked Security’s position as a leading industry resource, generate media coverage and significantly increase blog traffic.

Omni Hotels & Resorts

Omni came to Affect with a very strong social media presence among leisure travelers. With more than 15,000 rooms and 47 locations across the US, Omni was engaging with hundreds of followers and fans through social media platforms on a daily basis. However, approximately 80% of Omni's sales are generated from meeting and group sales, and this key target audience was significantly absent from all online outreach efforts. Omni approached Affect with the goal of extending the brand’s thought leadership among meeting and event planners in the social media realm.

Caron Treatment Centers

Caron Treatment Centers, a non-profit provider of drug and alcohol addiction treatment and recovery for adolescents, young adults, adults and their families was facing the problem of reaching the target audience of adolescents and teens. Affect started working with Caron on managing these expectations by focusing efforts on influencing support systems. Affect devised a strategy aimed at reaching the most influential force in adolescents’ lives; the parents. During the six-month campaign, Affect successfully positioned Caron spokespersons as expert resources on issues related to mental health and substance abuse among children within blogs, forums and online news outlets. Through this outreach, Affect secured 16 guest blog posts and provided over 50 comments on well known mom blogs and mainstream media sites, including EmpowHer, Momitforward, iVillage and the New York Times.

dealnews

dealnews came to Affect in the late summer of 2010. In just a few months, Affect was tasked with developing a highly targeted public relations campaign that would not only increase consumer awareness of the brand, but also address the challenge of driving people to click through to dealnews.com after reading company coverage. Affect targeted retail, consumer/electronic/ tech and personal finance online outlets. In only a few weeks, dealnews was mentioned in 594 major consumer publications, including CBS News, CNN.com and TIME, which led to more than 267,000 visitors to dealnews.com. The campaign was so successful that dealnews engaged Affect again in 2011 to achieve a repeat performance.
