NEW YORK -- June 12, 2008 -- Affect Strategies, a public relations and strategic marketing firm, today announced that it has received a Hermes Creative Gold Award and a Hermes Creative Platinum Award, for its public relations campaign on behalf of Absolute Software's consumer product, Computrace LoJack for Laptops.
Hermes Creative Awards are an international competition honoring outstanding work in the communications profession. Entries originate from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies, web based innovators and freelancers.
Affect Strategies received the Hermes Creative Gold Award in the television placement category for an expert interview it secured for Absolute Software CEO John Livingston on CNBC's "Innovations" segment with Sue Herera and Bill Griffeth. The interview aired on September 11, 2007 and positioned Absolute Software as the leading laptop security and computer theft recovery service provider.
The television placement was part of a year-long PR strategy for Absolute Software's consumer product, Computrace LoJack for Laptops. Securing prominent coverage in television, radio, print and online publications, Affect helped Absolute establish Computrace LoJack for Laptops as a recognizable consumer brand and undisputed category leader. Affect Strategies helped Absolute Software and Computrace LoJack for Laptops receive more than 1,200 print and online mentions in 2007, including prominent placements in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, CNN and MSNBC. In recognition of their overall success with Absolute Software, Affect received the distinguished Hermes Creative Platinum Award for outstanding overall PR Campaign.
"Affect Strategies has been our public relations partner for more than four years," said John Livingston, CEO of Absolute Software. "We have continued to work with them year after year because they have taken our public relations profile to new heights and helped us achieve our business goals. Affect's work, in collaboration with our internal PR team, has contributed to the growth of our company, the expansion of our sales and the recognition of our brand. These awards are well deserved."
"We pride ourselves on providing tangible value to our clients on a daily basis through public relations," said Sandra Fathi, president and founder of Affect Strategies. "It is an honor to be recognized by our peers for our work but we are also put to the test everyday by our clients. We share this award with our colleagues at Absolute Software. Together, our targeted efforts, creative PR tactics and a stellar product garnered these results."
