President and Founder Sandra Fathi Appears on the "Public Relations Explorations" Panel at Long Island University's C.W. Post
NEW YORK -- March 15, 2005 -- Affect Strategies, a public relations and strategic marketing firm, announced that President and Founder Sandra Fathi joined a panel of respected public relations practitioners for the 11th annual "Public Relations Explorations" panel March 14 at Long Island University's C.W. Post Campus. The event was organized and presented by Long Island University's chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
The panel discussion introduced students from LIU's public relations program to working professionals, providing a look into the various divisions and applications of PR. Fathi discussed the fundamental aspects of public relations, highlighted career options and opportunities and provided tips on what to expect beyond graduation. She also discussed the intricacies of working within the technology sector of public relations, drawing on her more than ten years of hi-tech specific PR counseling and marketing communications experience.
As the owner of a boutique public relations firm, Fathi described the unique challenges and advantages of entrepreneurship, both from the business and personal perspectives. She offered students a glimpse at her professional background, from working within a worldwide public relations agency to working in-house within small, private companies. Students were also exposed to Fathi's international public relations experience, which has included working in Israel and communicating with contacts in nearly every geographic region in the world.
Other attending panelists were Tony Signore, CEO and managing partner of Alan Taylor Communications, and Howard Bailen, public relations manager of Mercer Human Resource Consulting.
