NEW YORK -- October 3, 2005 -- Affect Strategies, a public relations and strategic marketing firm, announced that President and Founder Sandra Fathi joined a group of respected public relations practitioners for "The Best Minds in Tech PR" panel at MegaTech day on September 29, 2005, at the New York Institute of Technology in Manhattan. The event provided an opportunity for fellow PRSA members to learn about the latest technology advances and techniques available for today's public relations and news media professionals.
The panel discussion introduced attendees to live demonstrations of new technologies that practitioners are using to gain a competitive edge in the field. PRSA members from all areas and disciplines in the PR profession convened to discuss the technologies that a large number of professionals are adopting such as mobile marketing technology, media measurement and analysis, new technologies in outdoor advertisements, corporate identity tracking and new business development technologies.
Sandra's panel presentation demonstrated the webconferencing software, Arel Spotlight II, which is manufactured by Arel Communications and Software. Sandra's live demo connected two remotely located Affect team members for the demo, and communicated with them live via Arel's software application. John Taylor, who was located at the Affect Strategies office in Manhattan, and Yasmin Ben-Dror who was located at her home office in New Jersey joined Sandra in the videoconference. Together, they explained in real time how they personally use the software to save time and money and get the same type of personal meeting without the need to travel.
Other attending panelists were Andrew Bernstein, CEO of Cymfony; Steve Blinn, principle of Blinn PR; Yin Chang, managing director of KCSA and Harry Zlokower, president of Zlokower Company PR.
"Webconferencing has evolved into an efficient and personal way to have face-to-face meetings without cutting dramatically into a company's bottom line,' said Sandra Fathi, president and founder of Affect Strategies. "Affect Strategies utilizes webconferencing software to communicate on a personal level with our remote clients, partners and team members. Webconferencing is particularly effective in the technology industry where most of our contacts are eager to leverage this type of communication, if they're not doing so already.'
