Leveraging her experience as President and Founder of a small business, Sandra Fathi provided guidance and insight on how senior-executive women can re-enter the workplace

NEW YORK -- April 5,2006 -- Affect Strategies, a public relations and strategic marketing firm, announced that Sandra Fathi, President of Affect Strategies, participated as a discussion leader during the Women at Work Network "Forum for Returning Professional Women," held April 5, 2006 in Westport, CT. Fathi discussed the issues and challenges that senior-executive women face as they re-enter the workplace.

Women at Work Network selected Fathi as a featured discussion leader after Working Mother Magazine recognized Affect Strategies as one of the top 25 "Best Small Companies." Companies were selected based on their family-friendly benefits and culture to help employees balance their work and family needs.

The "Forum for Returning Professional Women" featured high-ranking corporate, financial and educational professionals offering opinions and advice to women holding professional degrees seeking to re-enter the workforce. Round table discussions centered on facilitating change in the work/family-life balance, employer perceptions, educational solutions, schedule flexibility and the creation of positions attractive to returning professionals. Other notable forum attendees included representatives from: Johnson & Johnson, Time Warner, Goldman Sachs, Harvard Business School and University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.

Drawing from her experiences as president and founder of a small business, Fathi discussed the advantages and benefits smaller companies can offer returning executives seeking employment. Fathi also highlighted small businesses' role in providing a nurturing environment and superior benefits for not only women but for all employees.

Fathi said, "Being invited to speak at the recent Women at Work network event was truly an honor for me and for Affect Strategies. As a woman and small business owner, the opportunity to outline the potential growth for women executives in small business is essential. The attendance and support of other major corporations, financial institutions and educators demonstrates the high valuation of women in the workforce."

Fathi's presentation was one of several speaking engagements she has recently participated in during the past year. Other notable events include: Public Relations Executive Forum, Public Relations Society of America Technology Conference and 2005 Digital Marketing Conference. Since its inception in 2002, the strategic marketing communications and public relations firm has committed to pursuing professional development and public outreach programs enlightening professionals and students about the efficacy of public relations.
